Northland Health Group

Organization:

Central Provident Fund
Singapore

What they wanted:

The Central Provident Fund is the cornerstone of Singapores social welfare program. CPF is a mandatory defined contribution savings program which deposits 40% of wages (equally split between employer and employee) into an interest-bearing account.

The Issue:
Consideration of a Medical Savings Account (MSA) program due to a:

  • National preoccupation with savings;
  • Desire to control escalation of health care costs; and
  • Concurrent goal of continuing to provide a sophisticated health care system.
What we did:
Following review of this operation, NHG recommended dissolution of a recently acquired MSO. Cash flow needs, breakeven timing and make vs. buy decisions were integral to securing consensus on business realities related to this entitys ongoing solvency. Back to International
